The 2020 KV Turkey Trot is Happening!
More than ever, in 2020 our communities need to come together to support our students, friends and neighbors. The Kiski Area Youth Network is committed to hosting our annual Turkey Trot on November 26, 2020 following all public health and safety guidelines. Register now for our in-person or virtual race, get your t-shirt, and show your support for our students in the Kiski Area School District.
Our in-person race will be run in two heats, at 8:30am and at 9:30am with a cap on participants based on guidelines from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Centers for Disease Control. Runners in the two heats will be separated by distance to comply with public health rules. Both races will be timed and overall winners will be awarded. There will be no same day in-person registration. Packet pickups will be available the evening of 11/25 and the morning of the race.
Public health guidelines are subject to change. Onsite racers will be given preference in order of sign up. Space is limited to 250 per heat as of today. Participants will be asked to wear masks prior to the start of the race.
Snacks and water will be handed out after the race in pre-packaged form. Volunteers will be present to assist and give directions. There will be no awards ceremony onsite.
The 5K Race is for the serious or casual runners or walkers of all ages. The in-person race will be digitally timed by Miles for Smiles. To avoid larger crowds, awards will be mailed to participants and times will be publicly posted the day of the event. The 5K certified course is an out and back loop on a beautiful country road with slight elevations. The race starts and ends in Kunkle Park.

This race benefits the Kiski Area Youth Network that was inspired by the life and faith story of Jenna Prusia. Jenna was a junior at Kiski Area High School when she lost her life on December 28, 2012 in a sled riding accident. Jenna had a deep faith in God and love for her friends and classmates at Kiski. KAYN was started to share Jenna’s faith story and help teens in our community to navigate life and the challenges that teens face growing up in an ever changing world. Come run to remember Jenna and honor a young life lived well!
