Kiski Valley Turkey Trot

 

The Event
Kiski Valley Turkey Trot 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Walk is a community event for the whole family to enjoy this THANKSGIVING MORNING, November 23, 2017  It is a benefit race/walk to support Kiski Area Youth Network who exists to support youth in our area.

The 5K run or walk is for the serious or casual runners or walkers of all ages.  The 5K race will be digitally timed by Miles for Smiles and starts at 9 a.m. in Kunkle Park, Apollo PA.  The 5K certified course is an out and back loop on a beautiful country road with slight elevations.  Race starts and ends in Kunkle Park.

The 1 Mile Fun Walk will not be timed and takes place on an easy and open trail within the park.  The walk will begin at 9:05 a.m.

5K Team Challenge
Run for the team cup award.  Team members must register together online as a group of at least three.  Top three times of each team will be averaged to determine the fastest team.

Giving Back
Come run or walk to give back this Thanksgiving.  All proceeds to support the local charity Kiski Area Youth Network who is dedicated to helping youth in our comunity by providing opportunity for spiritual, emotional, intellectual and civic growth.  Go to donations for more details.

Come dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving Costume!  Prizes will be given for the best costumes.

Our Inspiration – Jenna’s StoryJenna - Main Page

This race benefits the Kiski Area Youth Network that was inspired by the life and faith story of Jenna Prusia.  Jenna was a junior at Kiski Area High School when she lost her life on December 28, 2012 in a sled riding accident.  Jenna had a deep faith in God and love for her friends and classmates at Kiski.  KAYN was started to share Jenna’s faith story and help teens in our community to navigate life and the challenges that teens face growing up in an ever changing world.  Come run to remember Jenna and honor a young life lived well!
